Hi! I'm Megan, Owner & Founder of FLOSS Oral Hygiene.
I’ve always wanted to be a Dental Hygienist, having an interest in health-care from a young age. I loved the idea of one-on-one time with individual patients, giving them tailored care. I believe our most important role is to spread awareness of Oral Health and give preventative advice especially, to our Tamariki!
I look forward to meeting you!
Education & Experience
I started my dental journey as a Dental Nurse at the University of Leeds, qualifying in a hospital setting with a vast experience of different dental specialties.
I qualified as a Dental Hygienist from the University of Essex having further experience, this time as a clinician, in hospital settings, community, special needs, NHS and private practices.
As a Registered Dental Hygienist with the General Dental Council, UK, I contracted to the British Armed forces, having experience across the board; Royal Marines, British Army, Royal Navy and the RAF where I gave Oral Health lectures and ran a preventative clinic every two weeks for new intakes of Royal Air Force recruits.
I volunteered in Uganda, Africa, with the wonderful Dental Charity 'Dentaid', providing dental services and education to communities and schools.
April 2019, I moved to Wellington, Aotearoa after gaining Dental Council New Zealand registration, I worked in Johnsonville and Porirua.
I moved down to Christchurch just before lockdown, and joined a beautiful practice in the city until Feb 2023
FLOSS Oral Hygiene opens!
June 2023 I ventured to Fiji onboard the KOHA ship, as part of the 'Youth With A Mission (YWAM)' team, a charity offering dental aid to our Fijian Whānau!
